A Bay Pointe Inn Wedding (and why I keep coming back)
I’ve photographed at Bay Pointe Inn a handful of times now, and every time I pull up, I remember exactly why I love it.
It’s not over-the-top. It’s not trying too hard. It’s just… really, really good at what it is.
And honestly, that’s kind of rare.
The kind of place that lets the day breathe
One of the biggest things I notice here is how calm everything feels.
You’ve got the lake right there, the ceremony setup facing the water, and everything is close enough that you’re not being shuffled around all day. It gives you space to actually be in your wedding instead of feeling like you’re just moving from one thing to the next.
This particular day, their ceremony was right by the water under that simple white arbor with greenery. Nothing crazy, nothing distracting—just clean and intentional. Which, from a photo standpoint, is perfect. But more importantly, it just felt like them.
The dock… every time
I will never not take couples out on that dock.
At some point during the day, we snuck away for a few minutes and it turned into some of my favorite images from their wedding. No audience, no timeline pressure—just the two of them hanging out, soaking it in.
Those are always the photos people end up loving the most later, too. Not the perfectly posed ones, but the ones where they finally got a second to breathe.
Why I like photographing here (from a photographer perspective)
I’ve been here enough times now to know what I’m getting—and that’s a good thing.
- The light is consistently good, especially later in the day
- You don’t have to go far for variety (which keeps things relaxed)
- The timeline naturally flows without feeling rushed
- And there are plenty of quiet spots to step away when you need it
Basically, it makes it easier for me to focus on what actually matters: you and the people you care about.
If you’re getting married at Bay Pointe
Don’t feel like you need to overdo anything here.
Take a few minutes alone after your ceremony. Walk down to the dock. Let yourself be a little off schedule for a second if it means you actually get to enjoy it.
This venue already gives you a really solid foundation—you don’t have to force anything on top of it.
That’s it
Looking back at this one (even a few years later), it still feels just as good.
Simple day, great people, beautiful location.
If you’re planning a Bay Pointe Inn wedding and want photos that feel like this—natural, a little unpolished, and actually you—I’m always down to come back.
