Lighthouse Engagement Photos Along the Lakeshore

After the bridge, we headed toward the lighthouse for sunset photos near the beach. The soft neutral tones of the sand, the pale blue door of the lighthouse, and the calm evening sky gave these images such an effortless coastal feel.

Michigan lighthouse engagement sessions always photograph beautifully because they feel both elegant and relaxed at the same time. Barefoot walks through the sand, sitting together by the lighthouse, and letting the evening unfold naturally created some of the sweetest moments from the session.

The combination of editorial-inspired portraits with candid movement made these photos feel emotional without feeling overly styled — exactly the kind of balance I love creating for my couples.

A Romantic Covered Bridge Engagement Session

The first part of the session took place at one of Michigan’s scenic covered bridges, surrounded by tall trees and winding roads. The late afternoon light coming through the woods created the dreamiest glow and made everything feel warm and intimate.

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions like this is letting couples interact naturally instead of focusing on perfect poses. The quiet moments always end up becoming the most meaningful images — the laughter between prompts, forehead kisses, and the way they naturally settled into each other.

The covered bridge added such a timeless feel to their gallery and gave us a mix of romantic and adventurous portraits without needing anything overly complicated.
